Icelandic Illustrators’ Award
for the best-illustrated children’s book of 2009.
The award is given by the Icelandic Publishers’ Association, Myndstef and Eymundsson, together with the Gerðuberg Cultural Centre.

Steinn í Tjarnarlundi

Wind players from the Seltjarnarnes Music School create a southern carnival atmosphere with sambas and a Latin swing.

The Migrant Bird.  An opera for young people by Hilmar Þórðarson.

Traditional Icelandic folk poetry and songs.
An entertaining and educational programme for children of kindergarten age.

From the deep past to a new book
The legacy of the sagas and folk tradition in books for children and young people.  A conference held in Gerðuberg at 10:30 - 13:00, in collaboration with Reykjavík City Library, IBBÝ in Iceland, Síung, the Reykjavík School Library Centre and Upplýsing, the Society of School Library Teachers.

A love story from the mountains
Egill Ólafsson sings and tells the story of the trolls in the book by Guðrún Helgadóttir. Music by Guðni Franzson, played by the Caput Ensemble. Tóney í Gerðubergi is a programmes for all the family, with music, dance and theatre from 2-3 p.m.

Land vision
The folk artists Dagbjörg Matthíasdóttir and Magnús H. Traustason exhibit oil paintings in the Boginn exhibition area.

They will cover the most common styles and variants in jazz singing.
