Let’s sing and chant


Winter, songs about Þorri (late winter), the snow, and new year
17th of January

Icelandic folk songs and traditional ballads, with a few from overseas as well.  From 2 to 4 p.m. in the cafeteria, Gerðuberg.
An opportunity to gather and meet, chant and sing together and for each other.
A printed collection of songs will be prepared for each session, each with a different theme.

Chris Foster and Bára Grímsdóttir will direct these song sessions

14 March – The Islands of the North Atlantic
Songs of the Isles: from Ireland, Shetland; vikivakar and ballads from Iceland and the Faroes.

11 April – Spring, Green and Warmth
Let’s welcome the spring with cheery songs.

9 May  Folksongs from Various Countries
Singing is the common denominator of people of various nationalities living in Iceland.
