Trifolium
In Boginn 9 September - 7 November 2010
An exhibition of art by Henrik V. Árnason – Aunio, using acrylic technique in which the colours are allowed to run over the paper. Most of his pictures are abstract, though some contain striking figures in their patterns. Each picture is accompanied by a four-leaf clover; Henrik has long been interested in these and collects them in the fields near his home. This gives rise to the title of the exhibition: Trifolium is the Latin name for clover.
Henrik V. Árnason- Aunio was born in 1926 in Turku, Finland, and studied art at the T.Y.P.K in 1942 and 1943; he went on to learn window-dressing and marketing at Myynti & mainos koulu. He worked as a window-dresser in Sweden before moving to Iceland at the end of 1961. Henrik has also been active as an industrial designer; for example, he designed the Christmas spoons that Guðlaugur A. Magnússon produced every year for 19 years, from 1962 to 1982.
